On the morning of April 28, 2024, nearly 7,500 athletes were representatives of departments, branches, unions, people, and high school students in Hau Giang province and Mekong Delta provinces, including 52 athletes with disabilities. of Hau Giang province participating in the first cross-country running tournament in 2024 under the program “VTTU – WE ARE ONE” organized by Vo Truong Toan University.
The program “VTTU – WE ARE ONE” is organized by Vo Truong Toan University with the purpose of igniting, adding willpower, strength,… and raising awareness, sharing, and love. of the community about people with disabilities, contributing to gradually eliminating barriers that people with disabilities face every day in integrating into the community. At the same time, through the program, Vo Truong Toan University wants to support funds to donate to people with disabilities who are high school students and people with disabilities in Hau Giang province participating in the cross-country running tournament.
As part of the community service cooperation under the Comprehensive Cooperation Memorandum signed between the People’s Committee of Hau Giang province and Vo Truong Toan University, the program is organized as a community event, promoting Encourage participation of the whole society. This is an opportunity to meet and interact for sports lovers who want to improve their health, physical fitness and improve mental health through running activities with people with disabilities. The running route is uniquely designed and safe, athletes can admire the beauty of the European architectural works of Vo Truong Toan University and Ti & Ni Amusement Park. Create a “beautiful picture”, where “Every step you take will be strength, faith and hope for people with disabilities.”
In particular, through the cross-country running activity, each participating athlete contributed a fund to give to 52 disabled athletes of Hau Giang province participating in the tournament with a total amount of 130 million VND.
In addition to prizes for athletes who finish first, second, and third at the 2km and 5km running distances, and gifts for athletes participating in the tournament, Vo Truong Toan University also awards scholarships worth up to 4 billion VND. Awarded to the 20 students who finish first in each running distance when enrolling at Vo Truong Toan University.
Through this event, we hope to spread a strong spiritual message to the disabled community: “Do difficult things when they are easy and do great things when they are easy.” he was still small. A journey of a thousand miles begins with steps. Winners are not those who never fail, but those who never give up”.
It can be said that the cross-country tournament “VTTU – WE ARE ONE” has not only gone beyond the framework of a simple sports competition, but also has joy, difficulties along with sharing and working together. The community spirit of “We are one” helped each participant have moments of love and kindness together. The success of the first season is due to the participation of all athletes who participated in the program. Vo Truong Toan University would like to thank and of course there are limitations, we hope the community will share and sympathize. The second season program will return in April 2025, promising a season of great investment and preparation in terms of scale, quality and contributing to spreading positive values for the benefit of the community./.
