SCHOOL NAME
The model of “University City” is reaching out to develop in the land of “Nine Dragons”, extremely honored and proud, named Vo Truong Toan – One of the first teachers of Vietnamese education. He is famous for being a great, talented, and erudite teacher who is always mentioned and honored by his descendants.
He was honored as “Thai Son Bac Dau” by Southern scholar-officials. Throughout his life, he lived an unblemished life without seeking fame and wealth, refused to become a mandarin, but devoted himself to reading, writing and teaching. He focused on teaching students to be a good person and talented.
He opened a school to train outstanding political, military, cultural and educational leaders in Gia Dinh at that time. Although the generations of scholar officials in ancient Gia Dinh did not directly receive instructions from Vo Truong Toan, they were all the students of the disciples, which were trained by him. All of them respected his virtues and thoroughly understood his books.
Vo Truong Toan’s profound educational philosophy for nearly 300 years still has its meaning intactly. Following that noble profession, all staff and lecturers always strive to build Vo Truong Toan University to grow stronger in both human and material resources. Vo Truong Toan University always focuses on training the next generation of talents for the country in the context of international economic integration with morality as the prerequisite foundation, worthy of the name of high moral teacher and great virtue Vo Truong Toan. For now and forever, his name shines like a shining example of the nation’s traditional fondness for learning and thousand years of civilization spirit.

The logo of Vo Truong Toan University has the shape of a shield – a symbol of balance, solidity and sustainability. It shows the steady position of a prestigious and quality university. At Vo Truong Toan University, each student is a citizen of the “University City” – European architectural style with high quality education and come in for a modern professional education of regional stature.
The shield also symbolizes courage; Vo Truong Toan University always strives to become a unified collective, taking the lead in the training of knowledge for human resources. Besides, it also shows a strong will, ready to cope with difficulties. The path to reach the heights of knowledge has many thorns and challenges but in the stage of completing the facilities, Vo Truong Toan University always strives to create the best learning and living environment for students to think creatively.
The logo also has a crest in the center, showing the directional focus and will of steel; express the aspiration towards the future, towards the best in the journey to discover new intellectual horizons.
The image of elegant yellow rice panicles remind us of comfortable off life, peace and happiness. Spikelet represents prosperity and sustainable development. All of them remind us that teaching is a noble profession. Under Vo Truong Toan University’s roof, the seeds of knowledge have been germinated, sprouting to take the wings of dream.
Vo Truong Toan University is located in the cradle of wet rice civilization, which is the beginning of the “rice road” in Mekong Delta. Rice spikelets have occupied Vietnamese people for thousands of years; it is symbolic of the Vietnamese Fatherland.
The book with the year of establishment of the school is an important milestone marking the birth of a “University City”. Since then, opening a new page that promises a bright future, modern education is likened to a book, which provides foundation knowledge to students.
