With courage, perseverance and strong drive to succeed, Ngoc Diem has received three annually honorable scholarships each worth 3 million dong by the funding program for students who overcome difficulties to gain academic success.

- Thuy Duong was awarded certificates of merits and scholarships for her effort in overcoming obstacles to achieve academic success by VTTU in the school year 2013-2014

- Undergoing a considerable number of hardships to get to university, Thuy Duong understands that in any circumstances she must remain independent, resilient and do her best to study because it is the only way to help her make her dream come true, becoming a teacher in literature.

Her family is living in a poor district of Thanh Tri, Soc Trang, a little arable land, and the income from two plant crops was not adequate to cover their daily expenses. With financial difficulties and aging parents, life was full of obstacles to her, but with the encouragement of her family, her friends and teachers, Thuy Duong had motivation and strength to overcome difficulties.

As an awarding respond to the trust and expectations of the people who care for her, her academic achievements in college during her four years here were always outstanding. At the end of the school year 2013 - 2014, Thuy Duong was honored to received the scholarship from the program for students who overcome obstacles to gain academic success.

Thuy Duong stated “The most valuable thing for my future is the accumulative knowledge during my time of studying at VTTU. The experienced lecturers here have helped me substantially in improving my skills and make me proud of my major. My upcoming plan is to find a stable job and it would be a great chance for me to devote myself to the development of VTTU".
